Clock Design Sketches

 Clock Design Sketches

I. The Time Gear

This was the first idea that popped into my head when I first heard we're making a clock for a project. A time gear from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games is not only fricking cool, but it also looks perfect for a clock. It works thematically and gives a design that I know will be tough to make, but will be perfect to try out. Since the gears are 6-pointed, it was perfect for a clock, and the flares and designs are so interesting to me. this is 100% the top design for me.

II. Volume Beta

Basically started out as a hexagon to get the 6 points. But I enjoyed how it ended up, and it reminds me of the cover for C418's Volume Beta.

III. Roll for Initiative

A D20/Icosahedron from DnD, it's a perfect die, and from the top point of view, it turned out to be a hexagon. which makes the 12 points clearer. I ended up making the hands a d6 and a d4, respectively.

IV. Rose Quartz Oscillator

I wanted to do one of D12, a Dodecahedron. I thought it would be fitting because it is a 12-sided shape, but from a 2-dimensional point of view, it becomes a 10-sided polygon, which makes each hour not line up with any of the points.

V. "Sun Dial"

I wanted to do a classical round Clock. Then I made this design that looked a lot like the sun. So I made the hands flames to make it look like a sun clock, hence the joke "Sun Dial".

VI. Pondering Hour

This was a fun one, it's a pond clock, with two of my favourite animals, a crocodile and a turtle as the minute and hour hand respectively. I wanted to do one with an interesting cover.

VII. Tales of Time

A badge of a certain shape, I enjoyed making the design, and it's a symbol of something special to me, but as a clock, it might not end up as interesting as other ones.
